Conan Needs Knee Surgery To Keep Being Awesome

Hello there, I am the parent of a pretty swell pooch named Conan. Conan was prescribed to me by a therapist six years ago as a service dog. He had a great temperament, worked hard for me, and was very (maybe even too) friendly with everyone and everything. I have literally never met a more forgiving dog. No, truly. You could kick this dog in the face and he'd apologize for being in your way. Conan has the strongest heart I've ever seen in an animal, and he is truly the goodest boy in the world.
With me getting past my CPTSD symptoms enough to get back to working in a lab, Conan washed out a bit. But he's still a work at home sort of dog, and I can't even sniffle from allergies without him going on high alert. He cares about every human he's ever met.
This week he started limping and I prayed it was just some sort of pulled muscle but once we got to the vet and got X-Rays done, it confirmed the worst case scenario, which is a torn knee ligament. The surgery is expensive. But with Conan being only six and a half years old, I feel I owe it to him to give him the best fighting chance he can have.
Look, if you know Conan, you know this; he's annoying. He's stinky. He has no concept of personal space. His tail is a weapon that bruises thighs and destroys Christmas ornaments. He's a grade A pain in everyone's ass. But he got me through the worst time in my life and, stinky or no, I owe him a lot.
This is expensive. I'm trying everything I can to get there. I will cancel subscriptions, my one fun trip this year, eat oatmeal for a few months, whatever I need to, but I can't do this alone. If you know me, you know Conan- and that's a lot of people. Please consider giving us a helping paw.
