A New Home for Southwest Philly's Concrete Cowboys
Bartram's Mile welcomes the Concrete Cowboys!
Malik Divers and the Concrete Cowboys of Southwest Philadelphia are moving! Help them set up their first-ever permanent stable right here at Bartram's Garden.
The Concrete Cowboys is a youth program supporting Southwest Philadelphia students to ride and care for horses, inspiring the next generation of the city's Black cowboys and developing healthy ways for students to build skills and confidence.
In recent years, the stable has faced repeated uncertainty and evictions resulting from increased rents and is in search for a new home. Happily, a growing partnership with Bartram’s Garden allows for the Cowboys to build a new home in Southwest Philadelphia with access to 50 acres of meadow, garden, farm, and river trail for riding lessons. From this new location the Concrete Cowboys can deepen their partnerships with Bartram's Garden and other local organizations, bringing opportunities to ride for children across Southwest Philadelphia.
To ensure their new home is safe for students and horses alike, the Concrete Cowboys need to raise $12,000 before October 31. (*see update below)

Because Malik and the Concrete Cowboys are a valued program partner of Bartram's Garden, we are helping spread the word about their new home and coordinating donations. All funds received will be invested directly in the new stable, and because Bartram's Garden is a registered non-profit organization, all donors will receive receipts from GoFundMe and PayPal Giving Fund indicating the tax-deductibility of their gifts.
