Condolence gift for Andrew Balfour

Update: I will be closing this fundraiser on Monday, the 17th. Thank you all so much for your donations. Karine, Sandi and I spoke about how we would spend the money, and came up with a plan to help Andrew with costs related to Smudge, the pooch he and Sara shared, and gift cards to his most-used grocery store. Smudge has been a great healing companion, but he comes with costs whenever Andrew needs to go away. I've made arrangements with his boarding kennel to pay for the costs while Andrew is in Winnipeg in August. The remainder of the money will go towards gift certificates to Metro, his local grocery store. Any money that doesn't fit nicely into gift card denominations will be given to him as cash when he gets here. Again, thank you for all your donations. Andrew very much appreciates them.

HI everyone! As many of you will already know, Andrew's wife Sara Roque passed away from cancer on Wednesday, June 7th. Since we all live far away, In lieu of flowers and traditional offerings of dropping off food, etc, we thought we would offer the DOW community a chance to contribute to some practical gestures of support. Thanks to Karine for thinking of this. Whatever money is raised will be administered by Sandi, Karine and me. A few of us are traveling to Toronto next weekend to attend the memorial. We see whatever funds being raised as going towards gift cards for a food service, his local supermarket, etc. Please don't feel any pressure.
