Robert and I met when he was living in a tent under the freeway by my house. I drove up the stop light and he was sitting on the curb. I rolled down my window and we started chatting. We found out we grew up in the same neighborhood. Robert's wife passed away a little over a year ago. Robert said it devastated him so much that he just gave up. He did not want to go back to their place, and gave all the furniture away. He has been in this tent for over a year. Since we met, however, Robert has gotten a job holding a sign up on the corner for a local business. He works 7 days a week. It is minimum wage. He has now moved into a house and is renting a room with a roommate.
Robert needs help with moving to a room by himself, some furniture, clothes, and a better phone. Robert does not do drugs. He hardly drinks. He is a good man and now a good friend of mine.
Robert has made a big change in his life in the last month. You can help him continue to get his life back together. Thank you for all the encouragement, prayers and support.
