Help Conn Artists Theatre To Keep Producing Shows
Donation protected
Theatre is alive. But we need your help.
After the challenges of the past two years, such as not being able to tour our shows to theatre-loving audiences, as well as budget cuts to arts funding, we are asking you for your help.
We recently received the disappointing news that we were unsuccessful in our Arts Council England funding bid, having been successfully supported in previous years. This led us to almost cancel the production of our latest show Mary Rose.
But out of our love for producing high-quality theatre, and our understanding of how vital it is to the local community, to venues across the UK and to performers and creatives in the industry, we have decided to put everything we can together on order to take this beautiful and profoundly relevant play on regional tour.
By donating to Conn Artists, you will be supporting our cast and creatives across our company, improving the quality of how much we can invest into the show itself, helping us to promote it to wider audiences, pay our dedicated team a fair wage for their hard work and ultimately to create unforgettable memories to the thousands of audience members that are part of our live show experience.
Your support means the world to us and so many others in the arts industry. As the only professional theatre company based in Worthing, West Sussex alongside Rainbow Shakespeare, we believe the productions we stage are pivotal to the theatrical landscape and culture of our county, and they showcase the amazing work of creative professionals all based in Worthing.
We will be touring Mary Rose from Spring 2022, and as a small-scale theatre company, every penny you donate will be invested straight into our production and will have a meaningful and lasting impact. If you are unable to donate please help us to spread the word by sharing across your social media with friends, or by buying a ticket to our thrilling new show.
If we can raise the following:
£500 will help us make and source our costumes
£1000 will help us build and create our set (which is to have a magical surprise effect at the end of the play!)
£2000 will help with essential van hire and fuel costs (to get to our 33 tour dates!)
£3000 will help towards essential travel and accommodation costs

Our History
Our outstanding shows include the adaptation and landmark production of Hilaire Belloc’s book The Four Men – “a hymn of praise to Sussex and its countryside” which contained an understated yet pertinent environmental message and was supported by the South Downs National Park Authority; Silas Marner where we worked in partnership with the national organisation of The George Eliot Fellowship in celebrating Elliot’s bicentenary and raised awareness of one of England’s most important Victorian female novelists; and our recent UK Premiere of A Perfect Likeness, a mythical and revealing encounter between two of the 19th Century’s most iconic English authors Charles Dickens and Lewis Carroll; bravely taking the decision to produce when many other companies aren’t and having the courage to go on tour and thereby support the theatre industry as it recovers from the pandemic.
Thank you for your love of the arts and helping us to keep regional theatre alive.
