Connect Lilian to Resources!!!!

Hi Friends,

Megan here. Some of you may remember Lilian, a friend and colleague that I met through my work at the food bank drive-through food distribution sites.

Lilian is an amazing woman! She is an immigrant from the Congo who got her US citizenship last June. Lilian is also a mom, her 4-year-old son is smart and rambunctious and means the world to her.

Lilian has been out of work since the drive-through closed and is struggling to pay her bills. I am starting this Go Fund Me to help her stay in her home (her rent is $2,266 a month and going up in June), but what she truly needs is someone to help her connect to services. All money is SO APPRECIATED, but if you have any insights into how to get her a job, more affordable housing or more government resources that would be such a blessing! She has subsidized daycare, Cal Fresh, and Medi-cal, but she gets no rental assistance or other cash benefits.

Lilian's first language is French, so another big help would be translation services from French speakers. I fear she is missing opportunities because her ability to search and apply for services in English is limited.

Thank you so much for anything you can offer. I am so lucky that I never needed to access social services the way Lilian needs to, so any guidance as I try to help her navigate these systems is so appreciated!!!
