Connecting Needing Families with Internet

Many families across Arizona do not have reliable internet access to work from home nor educate their children online. They are either in an area where cox and centurylink don’t service them or there is not enough bandwidth available for the high demand. As a result their neighborhood connection is being bottlenecked, resulting in cliches and other unreliable internet symptoms. We have been working tirelessly helping families for free; Setting up their computers, home networks, teaching their parents how to get their children connected, fixing internet issues, and even providing internet for free to many familles. But right now we are running into issues purchasing the hardware to give away for free. The problem here is not getting them a computer. The problem is getting these families INTERNET. Some have been given hotspots but they have proven to also be unreliable because they are not providing enough unlimited internet access for families to work, continue education, and stream freely. We are a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP), and are wanting to hook up an additional 250 families that we know do not have any form of reliable internet connection. 100 of those families are in South Phoenix, and the others are in Mesa, and the outskirts of Tucson. We want to give them the hardware for free and 4-6 months of internet for free or until needed. The families have reached out to us for help  because they do not have access to other internet companies and other options have not worked. We know our internet will work in those areas because we have already invested just about $80,000 in getting a tower closer to them, but are in need of an additional $20,000 to complete the installations. We are in this together, and our strength as a community is defined by how we come together during times of crisis. These families are in dire need for internet to keep their jobs, keep ongoing education to their children, and pursue better opportunities during the quarantine.
