Connie and Family

Connie Hauer has been an employee of J&E Companies for the past 10 years and is one of the most dedicated people to her job as Office Manager. She has excelled in her daily duties and does not miss work unless absolutely necessary; until recently. Connie is a single mother who has her daughter and 2 grandchildren living with her whom she helps take care of along with their many pets or “babies” as she calls them. Connie worked hard and was able to purchase her single-family home a number of years ago and it is her pride and joy, after her family. She calls it her castle. As anyone of us who are fortunate enough to own a home, we all know how important it is; but for Connie it is almost twice as important due to how much time she spends at home with her health issues.

Last Wednesday evening Connie requested to leave work a couple hours early to bring her daughter to an appointment. Connie, her daughter and grandchildren were gone for 2 hours and upon their return, she found her castle to be on fire with dense smoke overtaking the home which prevented them from entering. Connie called the fire department and waited to find out the fate of her home and her fur babies that were still trapped inside.

Sadly, due to this fire, she has lost everything, including her 2 dogs and 3 cats that were inside. The home can be replaced but as any pet owner knows, her pets cannot and will forever leave a hole in her heart. A friend has stepped up and taken them in and was able to enter the home after the inspector left to retrieve her babies and give them a proper burial.

As any responsible home owner, Connie does have good insurance but it will not cover all that is needed to rebuild her life. House payments will not stop, not to mention any other financial and emotional hardships she will deal with over the next 6 months that she will be displaced from her home. We are reaching out to ask for any sort of help that can be given to help alleviate some of this burden Connie will be taking on and make things even a little easier for her on her difficult journey ahead.
