Connie Cancer Journey

Hi my name is Shelley. I am Connie's Cousin. I am helping out Connie's Battle with Cancer. I've know Connie's since she was a little baby and used to babysit her and her siblings. Connie is amazing woman and a great mother. I am organizing this fundraiser with the full

support and approval of Connie and her family to assist them during this financialy challenging time.

Connie was recently diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer and underwent surgery on January 15th for a total

gastrectomy (the removal of her stomach). Tragically, just days after surgery, she

suffered bilateral lung collapse and developed pneumonia. After spending a

week in the hospital, she was able to return home to her children. 48 hours later, she was rushed back to Regina by

ambulance due to a bowel rupture near her esophageal, requiring emergency

surgery on January 23rd.

Connie is still in the hospital in Regina. They hope transfer her back to Estevan if they can provide her with the care she needs there. Connie is still on a feeding tube, has had to have her lungs drained and still has drainage tube's due to her emergency surgeries. The medical bills alone from the Ambulance trips are adding up to more than she can afford. Her family have incured hotel bills, gas bills and meals traveling back and forth to Regina to be by her side. Connie has a long road ahead of her and will require many trips to to Regina to see her specialists. Her 2 oldest sons have taken time off work and came from BC and Alb to help look after their 3 younger siblings.

Connie is the Granddaughter of Regina and the late Ford Ross. Connie is the daughter of Tammy Blakeney.
