Connie Hagerman's Memorial Fund

It’s with a heavy heart that we’re starting a funding campaign for our sister in law, Connie. Connie went to the ER this week and we learned that she has been diagnosed with brain and lung cancer. I don’t have the specifics yet on the type of brain cancer. Connie will be starting radiation treatments on Monday. She’s fighting hard right now to pull through with Sam (my brother/her husband) and Athena (daughter) by her side. This is sudden and unexpected. Connie has never been a smoker, has good habits and no family history that we’re aware of that would have attributed to this. It’s a hard blow to take. With Athena getting ready to enter her senior year of high school, this is just unbelievable.
To compound things a bit more, we have two other family members right now that are fighting terminal and serious medical conditions. Within the last two weeks, our Mom has entered home hospice care for heart failure and our 92 year old Grandmother had a stroke. All of these ladies are fighters! We’re currently navigating care for our Mom and our Grandmother thankfully is surrounded by family and support in Maryland.
The immediate help is needed to support Connie, Sam and Athena. Connie is one of the most classy and caring people I know. She has such a gentle demeanor and is completely dedicated to family. Both Sam and Connie have been active in their local soccer community over the years while supporting Athena’s passion and have always been a family to help others when in need.
With all of this, Sam just recently started a new job so the vacation time/paid time off options are very low. We would be truly grateful for any donations to help support them during this fight for her life! The bills will quickly pile up for medical not covered by insurance, unpaid days off work and the treatments to come. All of the donations will go to Connie and Sam.
