On Christmas Eve 2022, Connie Jolly was hospitalized with ARDS, acute respiratory distress syndrome. She was immediately placed on a ventilator, the virus was attacking her organs as she was septic and had gone into multiple organ failure. It was later determined she had a rare Streptococcus Pneumonia. After a couple of days, she then developed two more infections and was having continuous battles with blood pressure, sugar and high potassium levels. After a long 14 days in a medically induced coma, Connie woke up. Every day is still a battle. During week three, doctors said she had turned a corner although it will be a slow road to recovery. We have been told to prepare for more time in the ICU and at least seven more weeks at St. Luke’s Plaza. She is still on a ventilator and dialysis waiting for her organs to heal and fighting some minor infections. Once released from St. Luke’s, Connie will be at a rehab hospital, she will need to stay for one week for every day spent in the ICU. She will then head over to a care facility for two-four weeks, and then home! Even once we make it home she will continue work on her rehabilitation.
Due to insurance issues, the first eight days of Connie’s stay were not covered, leading to an astronomical amount of medical bills. This fund has been organized to soothe the financial worries that medical emergencies bring. Your donations will bring the Jolly family some peace knowing that funds will be available for Connie’s rehabilitation.
We know Connie is a fighter and we see more and more of her spunky personality every day. Together we will be able to get through this, #ConnieStrong
Notes from Carlos:
Our family is humbled by the love, thoughts and prayers. Connie is one of God's miracles, giving her the strength and courage to survive and recover.
If you know Connie, you know this couldn’t have happened to a nicer, sweeter and more loving person. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.
