Connie O'Brien's fight against cancer

Dear Friends... We have an urgent matter we need to tell you about. Our beloved sister-in-law, Connie O’Brien is in the fight of her life. She was diagnosed in early February this year with late-stage GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor) This is a fairly rare cancer and is extremely hard to treat. We are asking for prayer and support as you feel led.
Connie underwent surgery to remove a massive tumor in March and we all breathed a “sigh of relief” as the follow-up scan seemed to show that they had removed all of the cancer. On December 23, 2022, Connie was rushed to the emergency room in excruciating pain and nausea. A CT scan revealed a blockage and multiple new tumors with lesions to her liver.
Medical advice is to move quickly as this is a very aggressive cancer. We are sending her to a cancer clinic in Arizona for a three-month targeted treatment plan. This clinic specializes in treatment for GIST. This clinic does not accept insurance and the treatment cost is $10K per week.
Connie has been such a gift to our family, bringing love and companionship to our brother after losing his first wife to cancer 20 years ago.
What we need most right now is prayer. So please, first and foremost pray for Chic and Connie that this treatment would be successful and that the Lord would go before them in every detail. If you can help financially, we know it would be a tremendous help to them. Thank you so much for thinking of our family at this time. We will keep you updated as we know more. Connie starts treatment on January 10, 2023.
