Connie Ponder's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
As most of you know, Connie was diagnosed in February 2017 with stage 4 colon cancer which had spread to the liver. This diagnosis came after she went through five surgeries and spent two weeks in ICU. She has undergone chemo every other week for the past two years and has been unable to work at her doctor’s request. This has put a huge strain on her family and their finances with having to pay out of pocket for chemo treatments and the mounting medical bills they still owe on her hospital stay and surgeries. Her youngest daughter, Jordan, is about to start college and her daughter Baylee, is her third year of college. Doctors have Connie on the last chemo that is offered for colon cancer and if this chemo stops working, she will have to go to the Mayo Clinic or a Cancer Clinic of America for immunotherapy treatments. Those trips would entail her moving there for treatments and an even bigger expense.
If that wasn’t already A LOT, she has just recently been diagnosed with lymphoma and has to have surgery to reverse a hernia as quickly as possible. Connie does not have health insurance and will have to pay out of pocket and up front for this surgery. The surgery is estimated at $8,000 and this amount must be paid in advance prior to surgery.
As her friends, could we support this family through this time of need in every way possible? Prayers? Food? Contributions toward medical expenses, etc.? I know any donation would be greatly appreciated and I hope we can help raise the money needed for Connie to get this surgery as quickly as possible and to give her peace of mind so she can focus on healing.
