Connolly Family Milk Barn Fire
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard, in the early morning on Thursday April 25th a fire destroyed Norland Farms milk barn in Laird Township. Norland Farms is a second generation farm for the Connolly family. It has been owned and operated by Patrick, Jerry and Donna Connolly for more than 47 years.
This fire has been an unimaginable loss for the Connolly family not only financially but emotionally as well. The Connolly family has spent their whole lives dedicated to building their business and contributing to their community. As many know, farming is not just a job, it is way of life. For Jerry, Donna, Patrick and their four other children/siblings, this fire has been devastating.
We are looking to raise money to help them weather this storm. The fire has completely destroyed their barn, therefore, all cattle had to be moved. As they begin to deal with their situation at hand and how to move forward, we are asking from their friends and family to give whatever is possible.
We would like to thank you in advance for helping by donating because any little bit will help.
We’d also like to thank the Brasons who have offered to re-locate the cows to St. Joseph’s Island for milking. We also extend thanks to all the community members who have helped in the last few days.
We give thanks to both The Echo Bay and Tarbutt Fire Departments for their outstanding efforts the night of the fire.
We are truly grateful for all the people in this community at a time like this.
