Connor & Alexis' Unexpected Medical Expenses

Seven beautiful years together, a picture-perfect wedding this past weekend on September 10th, 2022 and three days into their honeymoon in Tennessee, everything came to a devastating halt! Four days as husband and wife, trying to enjoy what should have been the best vacation of their life, tragedy struck the happy couple. After enjoying their first morning in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Connor suddenly became very ill. Unable to stand up or hold down anything in his stomach, Alexis and Connor headed to the ER. After spending time in the ER, Connor was discharged with just anti-nausea meds. The next morning, there was still something off. Connor still could no longer stand without the full support of Alexis. They immediately returned to the same ER. After extensive testing with CT Scans, MRIs, and lots of blood work, it was determined Connor had had a stroke. From there, he was transferred an hour to the University of Tennessee Medical center in Knoxville, where there's a stronger neurological team to monitor him. The extensive testing continues to figure out as to why Connor has had a stroke, being a healthy 25-year-old male that is very active. Connor has spent 3 nights in the ICU and is expected to spend at least 4 more nights in the neurology unit. To get back home, Alexis and Connor will have to make multiple strategic stops on the 11-hour ride home. Their ride will require frequent overnight stays to ensure the best care for Connor.

Connor is still unable to walk without the assistance of another person or a walker and will require 24/7 care in addition to physical therapy for the unforeseeable future. Alexis and Connor will be off work until Connor is stronger and capable of being alone.

Connor has always been such a kind, helping, and caring soul. He is always willing to help others, whether he knows the individual or not.
