Connor Keith’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
The Keith family has long been a staple in the Madison area swimming community. As swimmers, officials, and coaches, the family has become a familiar sight at meets from club to high school to All City. Connor Keith’s tragedy feels like it has happened to one of our own children, because really, it did.
As people are now aware, Connor suffered a devastating fall early on the morning of January 30th which resulted in trauma to his brain. He is currently at UW in the Neuro ICU, having had a drain placed and surgery to remove his skull at the forehead to help deal with the swelling, as well as taking some small pieces of his frontal lobe that were damaged.
His prognosis is unknown. Where this is such a new injury, and there is still so much uncertainty, the doctors just know that Connor has a long road ahead of him as he journeys toward his recovery.
Many people have reached out to ask how they can help. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot that any of us can do. This GoFundMe does offer one vehicle for people who want to help. There will assuredly be costs in the future that were neither planned for, nor which could eve have been anticipated. This fund will hopefully help address some of those costs.
Our swim family is large, powerful, and compassionate. We don’t have competitors, we have teammates and lifetime friends. This is our opportunity to take care of one of our own.
