Connor’s 30th! Join the Dissent in his memory

Tax deductible
This month my sweet ginger kid would be turning 30 years old. I wanted to find a way to remember and honor him on this occasion. He died almost 10 years ago from metastatic melanoma. He was only 20 years old.

Connor was gay. During his short life he became known for being the person others went to for advice on coming out. He supported people who lived in unsupported environments. He promoted inclusivity and acceptance.

I can think of no better way of honoring him than by supporting Human Rights Campaign.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people do not have full equality in this country — not even close - and the rights that this community does have are being stripped away at lightning speed … More than 525 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in 41 states this year alone, and more than 75 have become law. This is a state of emergency and an urgent cry for help.

In a radical decision, the Supreme Court has issued a ruling in the 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis case. This unprecedented decision will have sweeping and harmful impacts on the LGBTQ+ community and is a dangerous step backwards.

Please consider making a donation today to help us continue the fight for equality and end the persecution of this community.

Human rights are not optional. Join the dissent.

If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I will answer you: I am here to live out loud ~ Emile Zola
