Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and animal lovers,

I am reaching out to you today, because yesterday I received devasting and life- altering news about my pup Kiya and humbly request your support. Kiya is a six-year-old German Shepherd-Siberian Husky mix who recently received the devastating, heartbreaking diagnosis of Osteosarcoma, a challenging and very aggressive form of bone cancer. I'm reaching out in the hopes that together, we can provide Kiya with the support she needs to conquer this battle and continue living a happy, active life. As a responsible pet owner, I am determined to give Kiya the best chance at a full recovery and a happy, pain-free life.

Kiya, My Best Friend

Let me tell you a little about Kiya. Kiya has an incredible diva- like personality and is adored by everyone she meets. Possessing all the typical Husky traits, and she's never shy to express herself through talking and occasional joyful screams. Kiya has even mastered the words "I love you," which never fails to bring a smile to my face and her greetings are filled with excitement and an eagerness to share her affection.

Kiya thrives on an active lifestyle, to her long walks & runs, socializing with other dogs, hiking, camping, chasing laser pointers, and engaging in playful games of catch. With her diva-like and friendly personality, intelligence Kiya effortlessly charms everyone.

From the moment I brought Kiya into my life, I knew she was something special. She's not just a pet to me; she is my happiness and my one and only dog. Throughout tough times in my life, she has been there, providing unconditional love & comfort. Now, it is my turn to support her during this challenging time and ensure that she receives the best medical care possible.

What is Osteosarcoma?

Osteosarcoma is a type of aggressive and malignant bone cancer that primarily affects the bone tissue.
The cancerous cells in osteosarcoma disrupt the normal bone structure, leading to the formation of abnormal, weak, and brittle bone tissue. As the tumor grows, it can cause pain, swelling, and an increased risk of fractures in the affected bone.

Osteosarcoma is more commonly diagnosed in large and giant dog breeds, but it can occur in dogs of any size or breed. The condition is often seen in middle-aged to older dogs, although it can affect younger animals as well.
The exact cause of osteosarcoma is not fully understood, but genetic factors, environmental factors, and previous injuries to the bone have been suggested as potential risk factors.

How Can You Help?

Now, Kiya needs our help more than ever. Osteosarcoma threatens to hinder her energetic lifestyle and cast a shadow over her vibrant spirit. But I am determined to fight alongside her and ensure she receives the best care and treatments available.

Your generous contributions will have a deep impact on Kiya's fight against Osteosarcoma. The funds raised will be utilized to cover the following critical aspects of her treatment:

1. Chemotherapy and Medications: Kiya's treatment plan includes chemotherapy to target any potential cancer spread and reduce the risk of recurrence. Donations will help cover the cost of these essential treatments, ensuring Kiya's best chance at a cancer-free future.

2. Surgery and Possible Amputation: Kiya may require surgery, including the possibility of amputating the affected limb. These procedures will alleviate her pain and remove the primary tumor, enhancing her quality of life and increasing her chances of long-term survival.

3. Diagnostic Tests (X-rays, CT Scans): Accurate diagnosis and monitoring of Kiya's condition require frequent X-rays, CT scans, and other diagnostic tests. These tests help assess the progression of the disease and guide her treatment plan.

4. Radiation Therapy: Depending on the specific details of Kiya's case, radiation therapy may be recommended to target the tumor and inhibit further growth. Donations will help cover the expenses associated with this specialized treatment.

5. Pain Management and Supportive Medications: Ensuring Kiya's comfort during this challenging journey is of utmost importance. Your contributions will go toward pain management medications and supportive care to keep her as comfortable and content as possible throughout her treatment. Your contributions will play a significant role in providing Kiya with comprehensive care, supporting her rehabilitation, and ensuring she can regain her playful, active, and spirited self.

6. Specialized Equipment & Mobility Aids: If needed, specialized equipment and mobility aids will be provided to improve Kiya's quality of life.

Please consider making a contribution, sharing Kiya's story with your network, and sending positive thoughts and prayers her way. Every donation, no matter the size.

On behalf of Kiya and myself, we extend our deepest gratitude for your kindness, love, and support during this challenging time. Together, we can make a difference and help Kiya overcome Osteosarcoma.
