Conrad "Griff" Buchanan memorial

March 14th was the day that the Buchanan family should have been kicking off a memorable spring break, but instead Conrad woke up with a high fever, which we now know, was the beginning of a 13-day nightmare of COVID-19. There are a lot of details in-between but on Thursday, March 19th Conrad finally got tested for COVID, and on Saturday, March 21st the results came back positive. Sunday night Conrad was hospitalized due to extreme symptoms and this is when Conrad began to fight for his life for the following four days. Now if this in itself isn’t awful enough, imagine this: Hospitals aren’t allowing any guest at this time due to the Coronavirus epidemic and even if they were Nicole and Skye had to be quarantined because of their close contact with Conrad during the week that he was sick. In the scariest time of Nicole and Skye’s life they were in isolation, when Conrad was absolutely fighting for his life, he was alone. The purpose in sharing this before I ask you to generously donate your money and/or pray for this family is because this is the message Conrad would want you to know. The day that Conrad received his positive test results he went on Facebook to remind people that this virus could affect anyone and in his exact words he said, “KEEP DISTANCE FROM PEOPLE PLEASE, IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE IN PUBLIC SETTINGS, CHOOSE SOLITARY CONFINEMENT AS YOUR FIRST OPTION. BE SAFE”. So now that everyone understands the timeline and hopefully has a little more respect of what COVID-19 is capable of, we as a community are left here to help pick up the pieces for the Buchanan family.
On March 26th, the beloved Conrad (Griff) Buchannan lost his life from COVID-19 at the young age of 39. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father, and friend. Conrad was married to Nicole and had two children. He worked hard to help support his family and like most households they were dependent on two incomes to do so.
With all the emotional pain and stress that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Nicole and Skye to help with any medical costs that has incurred as well as to help pay essential bills until Nicole and Skye can collect themselves and regroup.
One of Conrad’s favorite things to do was to watch Skye express herself through the art of ballet. Both Conrad and Skye shared such of love for music and had an appreciation for each other’s art. I want to be able to assure both Conrad and Skye that he will never ever have to quit watching her dance and she will always have the means to do so.
In all of this Conrad would want to make sure his family is taken care of and that ALL of his friends are safe. So if you have the means please donate what you can, if you don’t, pray for the family and to EVERYONE, in Conrad’s words “MY PEOPLE…I IMPLORE ALL OF YOU TO BE VIGILANTE WITH YOUR HEALTH IN THESE TRYING DAYS”.
