Long Live the Legendary Garibaldi Matinee!

The legendary Garibaldi matinee needs your help!

We seem to have fallen on some rocky economic ground with the Saturday & Sunday afternoon gigs here at your favourite little backstreet boozer. A combination of rising running costs and an ongoing cost-of-living crisis is making it increasingly challenging for us to sustain and maintain the core values of what keeps the beating heart of the matinee pounding!

These 2 core values, here since its birth, are as follows:

1. Provide free, non-ticketed live performances to the music loving community of Northampton and the surrounding areas.

2. Pay the musicians fairly for these performances.

We believe that the above principles are integral to what makes these afternoons as fantastic as they are here at The Gari. We feel that if we start messing around with the formula, the gigs suffer. That's not good for anyone!

Here's where you come in. We're reaching out, our followers, friends and fellow music lovers, to politely ask if you might assist.

We really want to continue to bring awesome artists and an excellent atmosphere to our little community pub, The Garibaldi Hotel.

Who could forget when the stunning Liane Carrol played for the first time? There wasn't a dry eye left in the house after she'd finished... Or that time a whole 70cl bottle of Jack Daniels was communaly consumed in less than 2 minutes on orders from The Devils Cut Combo, just so that they could finish playing the song? So many memories over these last 6 years, what's been your favourite? Please share in the comments as we would genuinely love to hear.

What would you pay for a season ticket to see your favourite local sports team play every week, would you pay more or less than what you paid for it this year? Is food & drink included in the ticket?

What do all of those app subscriptions add up to on a yearly basis, how many of them see a lot of use?

How about a subscription to a plethora of live global musical talent delivered twice weekly to your doorstep (of the local pub)?

We don't need an answer for the above, we're just trying to get folks to consider the true value and worth of what's on offer, we shall leave you with this...

What are those twice weekly, three hour long sessions worth to you, when all troubles in life are forgotten about, albeit briefly, down in that little green corner on the Mounts?
