Prayers for Heather

On March 14th, 2024, I got the news that no one wants to hear. My beloved big sister Heather, has cancer. It felt like all of the air got sucked out of the room. Heather? My mind immediately brought up our childhood. I thought of all of the time she held and comforted me when I cried, and all of the times she showed me Grace when I was being an absolute brat. My heart sank even more when I thought of her husband and five children who love and depend on her. I still can’t comprehend how this could happen to such an amazing and kind person. My sister was diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is an aggressive, rare type of Leukemia. Despite the shocking news, Heather is staying positive and is determined to beat this. Her treatments and recovery will be a long process.
