Justice For Herbert Hightower Jr.
In September of 2004 Herbert Hightower Jr. was shot and killed by Seattle police during while experiencing a mental health crisis. Because this took place before the Black Lives Matter movement existed it went largely ignored and the language the media used to describe his killing was left unchallenged or interrogated. Herbert (more affectionately known as Bert to his loved one’s) is survived by a large family that includes his sister's, brother, father, mother and son, Andre who allmiss him dearly.
We recently received the public records (thank you to the 2,900+ community members who signed the petition demanding its release!) and are exploring legal options as well as continuing to amplify Herbert’s story and fight for justice for him and all those affected by police violence and murder.
Your donation gets us one step closer to justice
and accountability for those we’ve already lost
and future generations to come! Thank you!
Campaign proceeds will go towards supporting
the Hightower family and any associated costs
the Hightower family takes on in the fight to
achieve justice for Herbert’s murder.
