Continuing the Stewardship of Suzanne Peters
Donation protected
Please help us honor the memory of Suzanne Peters, and her commitment to family, farming, and education.
Suzanne's path took her from the farm, to country school, to over 30 years as a public school teacher. While she wasn't able to live on the farm full time as an adult, she made sure her family was there most of every summer and weekend that could be managed. She maintained this connection both while her daughter Sabina was growing up and afterward so that they could join in the life and work of the farm. This Land is a family member to them.
As many of you know, Suzanne's daughter Sabina has spent much of her adult life caring for her parents, as Suzanne spent so much of hers caring for her beloved John. At this point, all that is left of Suzanne's estate is her share of ownership in the farm, and due to her unexpectedly quick deterioration after John's death, this leaves the fate of the farm at risk, up in the air, as well as leaving basic memorial costs uncovered.
Please help us care for Suzanne's family and legacy as she had always intended - caring for the land by enabling the family to steward it's use and supporting beginning farmers. Keeping it in the family, and caring for the family by keeping it on the land.
Specifically, your gift will go towards:
* Suzanne's celebration of life, and a monument for Suzanne and John.
* Keeping the land in the family, in order to prioritize its care and use for conservation and beginning farmers.
* Support of Sabina and Brandon in gaining access to farmland and getting started as perennial farmers, since their access to land is by no means solid at this point.
