Corey, our beloved son, caring brother, fun uncle, cat dad, and devoted friend, at the young age of 43, is facing a life changing and relentless adversary, cancer. In August of 2023 his doctors confirmed that Corey has Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of bone marrow cancer. This rare diagnosis hit us all hard, but Corey's determination is unyielding. He is not willing to let this diagnosis define his future.

Corey is a man filled with dreams, aspirations, and a passion for life. Corey has enjoyed a thriving life over the past 20 years in Boise, Idaho. He has earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, and excelled in his various career pursuits. Lately Corey has been living life through activities such as rock climbing, hiking, live music, biking, and traveling, both domestic and abroad. His friends, family, and coworkers have always known him as the person who brings people together. Corey fully embraces his geeky side, playing tabletop games, video games, and reading sci-fi novels. He's been the rock for those around him, the one who never hesitated to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. His infectious spirit has touched countless lives, and now it's our turn to rally behind him.

The path ahead is clear: chemotherapy for the next few months in preparation for a bone marrow transplant. These treatments are the lifeline he desperately needs, but there will be financial obstacles standing in the way. The cost for these treatments are expensive (even with insurance). The cost for this treatment is expected to exceed $25,000. In addition, Corey will be out of work for at least six months during his recovery. Therefore, funding is needed for help pay for cancer treatment as well as regular daily expenses such as the monthly mortgage. This is where we come in, not just as supporters but helping where and if we can.
