We are deeply saddened to share the tragic news of Diontae Gayden's passing. Diontae, a vibrant and outgoing 27-year-old, was the beloved son of Antonio Gayden and Kamah Addison, and the cherished grandson of Auntie Nafisa. Diontae was a devoted technician at Autobahn Motors in Belmont, known for his ever-present smile and kind nature. He touched many lives with his positivity and warmth.

On the evening of May 24, 2024, Diontae was senselessly shot and killed in a normally peaceful Belmont neighborhood near Hiller and Irwin streets. Residents reported hearing three gunshots and saw bullet holes in a car parked in the area. Despite the quick response from paramedics, Diontae succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

This devastating incident has left a hole in our hearts and has profoundly affected our community. Belmont Police are diligently investigating, pursuing several leads, and believe this to be an isolated incident. However, the pain and fear this tragedy has caused will linger.
