Contribute to Jerry's Recovery

Chalice House's first family – Sandra, Jerry and their six year old daughter Zenaba – is facing an extremely difficult time in their lives. In May, Jerry was in a serious car accident in Iowa. Unfortunately, two others in the car (who were family of Sandra and Jerry) died in the accident. Additionally, the two passengers who died have two teen daughters who now have lost both their parents. They had recently arrived to the country. Everyone is absolutely devastated.
Jerry spent several weeks recovering from his three broken limbs in Iowa, and was released to Alexian in Elk Grove Village on May 31st. He hopes to be back to their apartment in June, and to be able to return to work by the end of the year. In the meantime the family has a lot to do to get back on their feet.
Although they have 'graduated' out of Chalice House and been living independently for almost a year, Sandra and Jerry need our support.
Their friends and supporters in the Chalice House community have asked how they can help. At this point, the most helpful thing we can do is assist with household expenses over the next few months. (Some of you may have already contributed to a GoFundMe dedicated to the funeral costs. If so, thank you.)
Along with partners Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants and Family Forward, we will listen for other needs that we may be able to help with, such as transportation or meals.
They are strong, resilient and motivated and we are confident they will recover from this terrible setback.
