Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Leonidah Mutinda Alexander. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and wife to the late Silvester Nyaberi, who recently passed away on August 16, 2024.
Her children, Charlie, Remmy, and Laura had just returned from Silvester's burial on September 6, 2024, where Leonidah was present to honor him. Following the ceremony, she returned to Nairobi but soon developed a mild cold that worsened due to her vulnerable health. Despite the best efforts of the hospital, she sadly passed away.
Leonidah was a gentle soul—selfless and kind—who touched the lives of many both in the U.S. and in Kenya. She was deeply dedicated to her faith and actively involved in her church community, where she participated in small groups. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her.
Now, we face the heartbreaking challenge of arranging a second funeral so soon after the first. The financial burden of these expenses is overwhelming, and we kindly seek support from our community to help cover the costs. Contributions will go towards funeral services, burial, memorial arrangements, and transportation.
The funeral for Leonidah Mutinda will take place in Kisii, Kenya, on October 18, 2024, with a viewing and service in Nairobi on October 16, 2024. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Silvester Nyaberi, at their family home in Kisii.
We are immensely grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and messages during this challenging time. Thank you for your compassion and support as we honor Leonidah Mutinda’s memory.
