Rev. Cat Webb (They/Them), is a multi-disciplinary facilitator, specializing in 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy, disabled positivity, trauma healing, and spiritual wellness in Vancouver, BC. They work to better their communities by running group healing spaces, advocating to government officials, businesses, and schools, speaking on podcasts, and advocating for trans disabled youth and death care for queer people. Cat is also a solo parent who lives with serious disabilities and has been managing multiple chronic issues throughout their life: Including Hypermobile EDS (Ehlers Danlos syndrome) making walking and dressing extremely difficult and MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) making food and environmental allergies unpredictable.
Unfortunately lately, another lifelong issue that causes random abnormal menstrual bleeding has led to extreme anemia causing a significant threat to their life. Over the last year, Cat has been to many doctors and specialists who could not diagnose this issue or prescribe an effective treatment. Recently, Cat has become unable to leave their house or even attempt working from home, instead relying on friends and support groups to help them with regular meals and day-to-day living. They have been bleeding heavily since the beginning of the year with no apparent end in sight.
Now at the end of options, Cat is going to be getting an emergency hysterectomy, hopefully solving the irregular bleeding once and for all. However, the recovery time of this operation is expected to be 6 weeks, through which Cat will still not be able to work or look after themselves.
Their partner and friends are already doing everything they can, but unfortunately things are only going to get worse before they get better and expenses are continuing to add up. This is where community financial gifts will help.
Donations are needed to help Cat get through their recovery from surgery over the next few months. This includes essential expenses like food and medical supplies. They are also hoping to raise enough for an electric wheelchair, something they have needed for a long time, requiring it now more than ever with their recovery. They are hoping to have this mobility aid in time for PRIDE season (aka summer), their busiest work period.
Cat needs this help now so they can get back to serving the communities they love. Check out Love TransForms Metaphysical Ministry for more information about their work.
Anything you can give will go a long way to their recovery. Thank you!
