My name is Nick, and I'm asking for your help in ensuring the memory of my adored wife, Christine, who died tragically of cancer. Our young children (Upton who is 2 and Pandora who is 6) deserve a world that remembers her voice. Although we were in love 20 years (all of our adult lives), they only had a handful to get to know her as an incredible mother. Your financial help will make a big difference. With your help, we will:
- Cover funeral expenses
- Commemorate her by funding a memorial by funding a memorial to celebrate her achievements as an author at our local library with a reading nook and a memorial where we first met (I knew I loved her right away)
- Use any excess towards educational expenses for our small children
Christine was my first and true love. We got married at 23. She was all fire and love to me. She brought out the best in me, and pushed me in the kindest ways a woman could. She was an amazing writer, could change a tire, and had strong opinions on French and English monarchs. There's never been a person like her. She's my Lion.
We grew together. Our family grew. I'll never forget the rainy Saturday where she couldn't stomach her dim sum, and we went home to take a pregnancy test that turned into one of happiest moments in our lives. She wrote her first book in the wee hours of the morning while caring for our young daughter. She published her book during the pandemic. She drafted her next book and gave birth to our son alone because of COVID. She was the strongest woman I've ever known. And every story she wrote was about the need for love and compassion in the world.
She swore she would beat her cancer. I've never seen someone fight for every minute. Every morning my son would run into our room to greet her. Every day she guided our daughter through the travails of kindergarten. We talked long and found solace where we could in each other. She deserved to live.
We are devastated beyond words. I'm asking for your help to make sure her legacy endures in the minds of our children and the world she cared so passionately about. Your assistance will make sure we can remember and celebrate her life, she will be remembered in the spaces every author wants to be remembered, and that our children have the resources to forge their future.
Specifically, the estimated cost for our remembrance of her life event is $5,000. The cost for the memorials is approximately $2,500. The remaining funds would be used for the intended purpose of educational expenses.
