Contributions for the Family of Eswar Vemulapalli

Eswar Vemulapalli was a friend to so many of us. He was kind and generous with his time and money, and took care of a great many friends and extended family.
Eswar passed away after a long battle with COVID-19. He, Chitra, and both of their kids traveled to India in February to spend time with Eswar's parents, who had helped raise the kids at various points in the last 14 years. The entire family was tragically impacted by the wave of COVID-19 that swept through the country in April. Both of Eswar's parents died as a result of complications with COVID-19. Thankfully his wife Chitra recovered.
Eswar fought hard - he spent total of 5 weeks on a ventilator and 4 weeks on ECMO (artificial lung) along with ventilator support. He regained consciousness for a few weeks as he used an ECMO to breathe while doctors gave his lungs a chance to rest and recover. He developed severe lung complications and underwent major surgeries to try to repair the damage. Unfortunately he developed septic shock that resulted in multiple organ failure, and sadly passed away on June 10th.
Eswar's family - Chitra, Sharannya (14), and Raghav (12) - have immediate needs. He was the sole provider for not only his family, but for many in his extended family and community. As a result, the family does not have significant savings that can meet their needs - mortgage, healthcare, car payments, and college expenses in the future.
Eswar was so kind to us during his life and gave to his community in many ways. For years he ran a small group that would make sandwiches every weekend and hand them out to the needy. He did this while working full-time and attending business school, and yet many of us did not know. It was not to build his resume nor to advance his career, but because he cared.
Let us all repay his kindness and giving spirit by helping his family cope with the immeasurable loss of a husband, father, and an amazing human being.
Please donate as generously as you can, and leave a message below with your favorite memories of Eswar to celebrate his life. The funds will go directly to Chitra.
