Contributions to Betty Longstaff's memorial expenses.

As many of you know, my husband's grandmother was in the hospital and then a nursing facility for many months toward the end of her life. End of life care is costly, and unfortunately leaves no room for funeral expenses.

To that end, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to assist with burial expenses.

Houlton -- Betty L. Longstaff, 93, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born September 29, 1930 in Bloomfield, New Brunswick, Canada; the daughter of Clayton and Phyllis (Carpenter) DeLong.

Betty graduated from Houlton High School in the class of 1949, and had intentions of going to modeling school when she met her husband at a Ricker College dance.

She enjoyed oil painting, crosswords, shopping trips with her daughter, and traveling to see her sisters in Connecticut and Arizona. In her later years, she spent time watching The Three Stooges and Wheel of Fortune with her son.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters; Jackie Folsom of Hebron, CT, and Marie Kronfeld of Minneapolis, MN, and a nephew, Lloyd Folsom, of Marlboro, CT.

Betty is survived by her two children, Vicki Cameron and Mark Chaplin of Houlton, grandson Derrick Cameron and his wife, Joy, of Brewer, sister Chavala Moran of Houlton, half-sister Jean Carnes and her husband David of Nashua, NH, nieces and nephews Chris Moran, Gilbert "GB" Moran, Steven Moran, Rob Moran and his wife, Janene, Roz Wilbanks (Kronfeld) and husband David, Rich Kronfeld and his wife Robin, Beth Lyon and her husband Jeff, Clayton Folsom and his wife Cheryl, Barbara Moores and her husband Randy, Patty Levasseur, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Monticello, Maine.
