Announcing a bonus short film trailer, "Homage to a Hopi Grandmother." In this piece, we document the journey of bringing Carolyn Tawangyawma from her remote Hopi village in Northern Arizona, to the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu, high in the Andes.

As we celebrate our diversity and come together in love and compassion, we support our collective healing.

In May of 1987, twelve indigenous representatives came together to pray for unity and understanding between all people, of all ethnicities and beliefs. For three days, their prayers were spoken, chanted, and danced into the Earth, with a final circle around the single tree in the center of the ancient city of Machu Picchu, symbolic of the sacred tree of life.

Many of the older participants have now passed away, and our intention is to share their visions, prayers, and words of wisdom as a legacy of inspiration for a better world. Our new documentary will also bring this historic event into the context of the here and now, by including new interviews with those indigenous delegates and key organizers who are still alive today.

We will explore how our current world appears in contrast to our visions for the future nearly forty years ago. We will ask challenging questions: Was the vision for global unity and understanding an impossible dream? How do we reconcile our long-held visions with the current state of the world, and how do we move ahead?

Our film will also look at a new generation of young people who themselves are doing ceremonies and gatherings worldwide for peace and healing. We will see how their efforts and visions often carry forward ideas that were initiated decades earlier, and place what is happening now for global transformation in a historical context that includes the Harmonic Convergence of 1987. Many young people today know nothing about that movement and similar groundbreaking events that planted the seeds of change.

With this film we will weave the threads that tell a story going far back in time, from ancient indigenous prophecies to modern movements inspired by those prophecies. With old and new footage artfully woven together, we aim to increase the awareness of ancestral wisdom traditions that can help us navigate through a period of unprecedented change and uncertainty.
