COOK FAMILY HOME BUILT 1897 DESTROYED BY FIRE

I am neighbor to Fred & Michelle Cook that lost their home that was built in 1897 to a fire last week. Fred's grandfather previously owned the home and Fred has lived in it for 60 years. Everything was lost in the interior to the fire, smoke and water. They have insurance but have needs that are immediate and not covered by insurance.

South Kitsap Fire & Rescue was on site for several hours last weel and did everything they could to try to save the home, but due to the age of the structure and where the fire started in the Fireplace/chimney it was hard to save anything.

Fred has been a well respected member of the community owning his own Real Estate Company, Sun Quest Realty since 1972. The people he has helped to own their home or sell their home or property are too many to count. He is semi retired and Michelle still works to help support their family. They are so fortunate that Fred was able to get out as he was home alone at the time the fire started.

Anything you could give will be greatly appreciated. Even your thoughts and words of support will help them. This is devastating. They are senior citizens that lost all of their treasured belongings.

They have received clothing donations from people in the Community at High Tides Tavern. They are extremely grateful for the generour outpouring.
