Cookie’s First Album: ANTIDOTE

I need your help raising funds to record my first album!

The backstory: In October 2022, I began dreaming up an evening length dance piece and thought, “I think I could write all original music for the show.” It was a leap, but I went for it. The idea pushed me to realize my music more than I ever had before and I’m so glad it did!

In June 2023, the show came to life. My band and I performed 8 new songs alongside the most tender evening of dance. My band mates, including my brother Michael Harrist and dearest friend Ahmed Ragab, helped me to deepen the sound of my folk songs in beautiful ways. Much is owed to Mike’s and Ahmed’s musical brilliance! We were asked by so many audience members if the music was available to buy/stream… and we said, “not yet…”

This is where YOU come in! Please consider donating to this fundraiser to help make my first album a reality. I can’t wait to share the music with you!

Your donation will go to paying for studio time ($400/day), sound engineers ($350/day for recording, $2000 stipend for mixing), and compensating my collaborators ($350/day for recording, $30/hr for rehearsals.) I believe it’s important to pay artists fairly for their labor and support their ongoing work. (Did you know it takes around 250 streams of a song to make only ONE DOLLAR?! It is unlikely we will make much money from putting our recordings on Spotify, etc, so we are asking for your support now.)
