Cooking for Sanctuary - Emma & Sadie
Donation protected
The highest number of families crossing the U.S.-Mexico border per month, week and day keeps breaking its last record, with 750 asylum seekers released in El Paso just today (the most this city has ever seen). For the past 6 months I've been running an emergency shelter that houses up to 150 people at any given moment, which is actually just a small fraction of those crossing every day. It takes an immense amount of coordination and planning, so in one month Sadie Mae will be coming down to help me with one very important thing - cooking. Corralling community members to prepare and deliver hot meals 3 times a day every day has been one of the harder things to coordinate, so she and I will relieve this search for food while she's here. We plan to cook a few meals for the shelter I'm running, but we need the funds to do it. We are asking that you chip in (any amount is great!) so we can put some yummy food on the table. Our goal is $2,000. All excess funds will be donated to Annunciation House! www.annunciationhouse.org
