Greetings, I pray all is well! My name is Larrye Weaver, Jr. I pastor Brookview Community Church (Judah Covenant House of Prayer) of Waco, Tx. We are located at 2605 Morrow. Our weekly service time is Saturday at 10:30am.
On July 15, 2023, I drove up to our church property excited about what the Lord Jesus had given me to share with His people. When I parked my vehicle, I immediately noticed that our entire HVAC unit had been stolen. I checked the other side of the building and, to my dismay, that unit had also been stolen as well. These criminals not only stole both of the units, but they also cut through the metal bars that were placed over the units as a deterrent for theft!
After checking with the neighbors in the community of the church, it was determined that the criminals that committed this heist had been seen in the neighborhood on previous occasions even attempting to steal from our church previously. However, their daytime attempts at theft were met by the swift proactive behavior of the neighboring individuals of the Brookview community. I surmise that the theft of the two HVAC units took place sometime in the early AM of July 14, 2023.
Quite honestly speaking, my first reaction towards these criminals was anger. I asked myself “Why would they steal HVAC units from a church?! Why would they steal HVAC units from a church when it seems as if the entire world is suffering from a narcissistic and hostile heat wave!?” I immediately called the police, filed a report, and gave them all of the necessary information that they requested. I hoped that the assailants would be punished by the law to the fullest extent possible. And although I still feel that they should be held accountable for their actions, my reason has changed. If someone would be so callous to steal from the church under the extreme conditions that we are currently facing with the weather, then that is indicative of how far they have fallen in their humanity. They are sick people, and I pray that they find the help that they need before the disease of their soul causes them to hurt someone lethally. I am no longer angry at them. I love them, and I am praying for them. And I hope their real needs get met much sooner than later.
At any rate, I am asking for your help in replacing these units. I am currently in conversation with Lochridge-Priest of Waco, Tx. about replacing these units. After doing a complete analysis
of our needs as a ministry, they provided us with two options. Both options are going to require roughly USD 30,000 including parts and labor. The insurance coverage that I had at the time of the incident rejected our claim. Since 1940, my family, in some shape, form, or fashion have been committed to serving the Greater Waco Community. I am currently the Chaplain at the William P. Hobby Unit (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) in Marlin, Tx. I also have a janitorial business that provides jobs for people in my community. I want to thank you in advance for assisting us in this dilemma. Our church is a registered nonprofit with the State of Texas. Your donations will not only be tax deductible but they will also be registered in heaven, for "it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35)." Your timely and heartfelt donation will allow us to continue to impact our community one life at a time. Thank you in advance! And may the Lord Jesus cause His blessings to come upon you now! The blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
Blessings and peace,
