One would be hard pressed to find somebody that does not know Joe Cooney. Spend a short time talking to him and you will quickly know why. Joe is the kind of guy that makes you feel like you have known each other forever; the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back.

Now, at 51, Joe is facing the toughest battle of his life against an aggressive brain cancer. The fear and uncertainty that come with this diagnosis are overwhelming, but Joe is a fighter.

With an invasive surgery and long recovery ahead, Joe will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. In addition to preparing for the medical challenges ahead, Joe and his family will face significant financial burdens with Joe being out of work.

As a devoted husband and father, Joe is the epitome of a family man. His wife, Bernadette, and children, Brynn, Cecilia, Cullen, Giada, and Christopher absolutely adore him. As a Philadelphia Police Officer, his dedication to serving and protecting others has been unwavering for more than 25 years. Now, it's our turn to come together and support Joe and his family in their time of need.

Joe is one of the best human beings I have ever met. He is a man of pure selflessness, who I have seen time and time again put himself before others.
