FULLY FUNDED - Cooper - board & train, adoption
Hello everybody!
I have started this fund raiser on behalf of TESA'S RESCUE, as one of the volunteers, to try my very best to raise the necessary money to cover all of the expenses that we have for Cooper.
This is a slightly different story than we we would normally promote. Cooper is an ex-Romanian street dog - when he was a puppy, his family was attacked by another pack of dogs resulting in severe injuries for some and death for others. Little Cooper sustained damage to his trachea and was unable to breathe, an emergency surgery was performed and it did save his life but he remained with a throaty bark. Fast forward few years and this handsome guy was adopted into the most wonderful loving forever home. He has always been a nervous, confused boy but unfortunately as time went on he began presenting a lot of problematic behaviours such as being territorial in the house, not letting people in and acting 'aggressively' when approached, snapping at the family's teenager, fighting over food and toys with the resident dog, being reactive on the lead to people and dogs, generally anxious and tense. Although his family tried their very best to work with him and settle him in over years, it seemed that maybe it wasn't the right environment for Cooper. A further assessment from a behaviourist confirmed that Cooper was a 'big project' and the family did not have the necessary resources to work with Cooper long term.
In trying to find a suitable foster home for Cooper, we encountered many milestones as he wasn't an easy dog to just place anywhere. Eventually luck was on our side and we found a fantastic rescue who is very happy to take on handsome Cooper, re-assess him safely, work on his behaviours, teach him some basic obedience and we will all work together to find him a suitable forever home! ❤️
We are aware that the journey we are about to begin is long and consists in a lot of expenses:
- transport from forever home to emergency boarding (UPDATE: Sometimes I absolutely adore people. None of the volunteers involved in Cooper's transport wanted any fuel money refunded; one of the volunteers said 'please give the donation you would have given to me directly to Cooper's fund raiser' so here we are... £20)
- £10/day for boarding, food, ongoing behavioural work, adoption, our peace of mind, Cooper's happiness and second chance - that's a pretty small price to pay, right?
This will be an ONGOING fund raiser until Cooper gets adopted ❤️ We will not rush him anywhere, we will give him as much time as he needs to decompress, relax and see life from a new perspective. We will be updating you all and this fund raiser as often as we can and hopefully with lots and lots of good news! Follow Cooper's journey as a new chapter in his life begins! Please share our cause! As I always tell you all, every single penny counts and no amount is too small - if you would like to make a small contribution towards Cooper it would mean the world to us.
