Imagine your 7-year-old son complaining of leg cramps for a few days. After dismissing the cramps as growing pains, as was the case with your older child, doctors tell you that he has leukemia.

Question: As a parent, what would you do?

Answer: Everything within your power to help him get better!

Such is the case with Brindley & Dillon Drake. Their youngest son, Cooper, has been battling leukemia since last summer. They are doing everything possible to help their son get better.

Upon relocating from Houston to Lubbock for Dillon’s job, Brindley left her job at St. Vincent de Paul after 18 years to teach at Christ the King Catholic School in Lubbock. Brindley has been a profound influence on our three grown children during their time at St. Vincent de Paul School. As a teacher, coach & tutor, she has been instrumental in their growth and development. As friends, both Brindley and Dillon are as good as they come.

We start this fundraiser to reach the community that has been influenced by Brindley & Dillon for years. We hope everyone understands and empathizes with their need for financial help during trying times. While Brindley maintains her job at Christ the King in Lubbock (albeit in a reduced capacity to retain medical insurance coverage), the financial strains of Cooper’s diagnosis & treatment are nothing short of overwhelming for their family. Our fundraising goals are ambitious yet attainable knowing the community that the Drake family is a part of.

Cooper’s treatment plan is one of years, not weeks or months. Their road ahead is long and challenging. We ask that you strongly consider coming together as a community and contributing to the Drake family to help them get thru these tough times.
