Cooper’s TOF open-heart surgery

Tetralogy of Fallot / Blue baby syndrome (TOF)

My son, Cooper, was born October 6, 2022. Two days later my wife and I were told that he was suffering from what’s called Tetralogy of Fallot.

Tetralogy of Fallot (teh-TRAL-uh-jee of fuh-LOW) is a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects. These defects, which affect the structure of the heart, cause oxygen-poor blood to flow out of the heart and to the rest of the body. Infants with tetralogy of Fallot usually have blue-tinged skin because their blood doesn't carry enough oxygen.

All babies with this condition require open heart surgery in their first year of life to “repair their heart” (closing a hole between both ventricles).

On Tuesday 2/21/23, at 4 and a half months old, little Coop went in for his corrective heart surgery, which lasted 4 hours. He is now in the cardiac ICU for possibly up to two weeks, depending on the speed of his recovery and how well he is doing.

During that time, my wife and I naturally want to be up at the hospital by Cooper side to make sure he is okay, and feeling loved surrounded by his parents.

As you can imagine all of these medical bills are very expensive and the unpaid time off of work - for both of us - will be painful and costly.

I therefor started this GoFundMe to ask for your help, if you are willing to of course. Medical bills and other financials being extremely high (around 150 000$ to 200 000$) , we have been and are struggling to keep up with everything his condition requires (hotel by the hospital, time off of work, tons of Drs and cardiologist appointments etc.. ).

Even if you cannot donate, please offer all of the positive prayers, good vibes, energy, whatever it is that you believe in, to Cooper on Tuesday.

We are rooting for him, love him, believe in him and will support him through this extremely tiring process. I know you will all too.
