Copper Country Flood Relief Fund

Michigan Governor Synder has Declared this Flooding a State of Emergency.
Historic damage damage from flooding on June 17th, 2018 in the Copper Country has affected thousands of people in one way or another.
There are 100s and 100s  of people directly affected from this storm, businesses flooded and damaged,  homes flooded and or  destroyed, vehicles destroyed, families with medical emergencies due to injuries as a result of the flooding or emergency personnel who were injured responding and helping flooding victims. The damage is widespread from Houghton, Hancock, Ripley, Oskar, Chassell, Dollar Bay, Point Mills, Woodside, Tamarack City, Hubbell, and Lake Linden and everywhere in between.

Money will be used to purchase any items that are immediately needed for cleanup that volunteers haven't provided
Money will be used to help with for food and beverages for volunteers and victims during cleanup
Money will be used to help victims with repairs to property that isn't covered by insurance or from state or federal aid
Money will be used to help with gas for volunteers equipment that is needed to help cleanup
Money will be used to help with  trash/debris removal costs to the county waste transfer station
Money will be used to help pay storage costs if a victim needs it for their belongings
Money will be used to help  non-profits that may need it for helping in this flooding damage.

Withdrawals will start meeting the immediate needs of trash/debris removal, gas for equipment, food for victims and volunteers, and water for volunteers. Some victims may be in need of immediate place to store their belongings and we can help with the costs of storage unit and help with Uhaul if needed.

This is not something anyone would ever imagine could happen here in the Copper Country, ever, but it did and it is very sad, and there will be many weeks and months, perhaps years to recover from this. There is millions of dollars in damage and many people are displaced because of this historic flooding, and 1000s of people who aren't able to go to work because of the flooding.
