Copper Sound Needs Your Help.

Copper Sound is more than just a music studio. It has become an amazing place for musicians of all genres and backgrounds to come together and create. In order to continue to be a critical place for emerging artists in Ontario, we need some community support.
My name is David Copper. I have been working in the Canadian music industry for 20 years. I founded Copper Sound 6 years ago, and through producing, recording, mixing, and coaching, the studio has helped countless people find their voice. It has been my dream to foster a community of composers, performers, and producers as we record and release incredible Canadian music.
We need your help to continue this dream.
We want to keep creating and celebrating Canadian talent. We need to strengthen and expand in order to help even more artists realize their potential.
The pandemic has been a turbulent time for Copper Sound. Shutdowns have often made it impossible to have clients in the studio. Some projects have been put on hold or put off indefinitely. The harsh reality is that the cost of running a studio while we wait for the music industry to bounce back has put Copper Sound at risk. Still, we are determined to keep this creative space alive. Like so many other art spaces, we have been reliant on financial support from the government, however that funding has come to an end. We need help covering the cost of rent, utilities, equipment, software, and repairs.
Despite setbacks, uncertainty and the restrictions we’ve all faced over the last two years, Copper Sound has adapted to the changing landscape of the Canadian music industry. We now offer online options to engage with musicians everywhere and include those who may be immune compromised or have loved ones they need to take extra precautions for. New coaching services have been designed and launched to assist those struggling to finish projects, foster creativity or discover their voice. The goal is to provide support for new and established musicians in a meaningful way. Your help will allow us to keep working on these new services and reach even more artists over the next year.
Times have been hard, and we know that many artists can’t afford services like ours. This is why Copper Sound is dedicated to providing discounted and free services where we can. We pledge to take 10% of all donations and start a new Artist Fund at Copper Sound. This money will go directly to subsidizing musicians who need help affording our services, prioritizing those who are POC, indigenous, or LGBTQ+. If we reach our goal of $5000, we will double that contribution to 20%. Once the fund is established, artists will be able to use a link on our website to apply directly for assistance.
So to recap:
Your donations will directly help Copper Studio stay open so we can continue to provide a safe space for musicians to record their artistry.
Your donations will aid us as we expand our services so we can reach more artists and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the industry.
Your donations will help create a new Artist Fund so we can offer services at a reduced rate to those who need it.
Thank you for reading and please donate if you can.
If you aren’t able, please consider spreading the word! Share our fundraiser on your socials, tell your friends about our vision. Everything helps.
Another way to support Copper Sound is by purchasing our new DRUM | ACOUSTIC sample pack or one of our new coaching packages.
If you are looking to work with us on any upcoming projects, we also offer special bundle pricing on our studio time or mixing services. Please get in touch and we will find a package that works for you.
Everyone involved with Copper Sound is really excited about the next steps in our journey. We so appreciate any support you can give!
