Hello! My name is Tajmah and I have created a "Go Fund Me" page for my younger sister, Tahira, who was born with a chronic illness called Sickle Cell Anemia. (click link below to learn about what SCA is). It is a devastating illness that causes unimaginable pain.
Tahira has been in and out of the hospital, over the years, more times than I can count.
It has been so sad and heartbreaking watching my sister suffer over the past 26 years of her young life.
Tahira has been presented by her doctors with the idea of doing a bone marrow transplant. Tahira and the entire family were so excited about this because this could mean Tahira would be cured. Well, unfortunately non of her siblings are a match. This was devastating news for us.
Now that Tahira is expecting her first baby, the chances of the baby being a match is very high! With that being said, it's very critical that we bank her son's cord blood! This could be her chance to be cured of SCA!
Langston has been very blessed with loved hand-me-downs by his older cousins; therefore, we would rather you donate to this page than buy something for Langston.
So, I have created this "Go Fund Me" page to help with Tahira and Langston's medical expenses and to allow Tahira to bank Langston's (her unborn son) cord blood.
This would mean so much to Tahira, and her entire family and loved ones. We all love Tahira so much and want her to live her life pain free!
Tahira has been an advocate for Sickle Cell all of her life, by speaking at churches and hospitals throughout the country; she's even spoken in Congress to help raise money for those having to deal with this excruciatingly painful and debilitating disease. Tahira wants a chance to live a longer healthier life so that she can continue to fight for this most worthy cause.
