Thornton Primary School
Donation protected
C.O.R.E. began as an idea to give back and is now an official charity with access to government grants that will allow us to give even more support to those in need. As we start our next chapter in giving we humbly ask for your donations once again to help children and teachers who are less fortunate.
We are raising funds for the Thornton Primary School in rural St. Thomas, Jamaica. We ask everyone reading this to Please give and support the Thornton Primary School by donating.
St. Thomas is the birth place of C.O.R.E.’S founder which makes this opportunity to give back very close to our hearts. Thornton Primary School’s motto is “Reach for the sky” and C.O.R.E. understands resources are the key to success for children in poverty. But, unfortunately resources and opportunities are limited and many times nonexistent for those who need it most.
The Thornton Primary School provides education for 63 primary and infant students led by their dedicated Principal Pherson-Keymist.
The school is in need of:
1. Safety Fencing
Fencing is the number one requested resource from schools that reach out to C.O.R.E. because it provides security for students as they play and learn in the school yard.
2. Building Supplies for roof and dry wall repairs
Being able to repair the decaying walls and leaky roofs of the school house will greatly improve the environment in which these children learn
3. Classroom dividers
At the moment all classes and age groups are taught in a one room school house. Classroom dividers will dramatically improve the teachers ability to retain the attention of the students and minimize noise.
4. A School garden
This will help the students not only survive but thrive in an environment where they can have hands on learning about botany, patience, and responsibility.
Giving
Sometimes it is overwhelming to think about all the people in need. And discouraging to know that you can not help everyone. But there are 63 children that you can help directly.
ONE AMERICAN DOLLAR = 135 JAMAICA DOLLARS, So even small donations can make a huge impact. Please help today!
