Corinne Willett Wellness Centre for Healing Memorial Fund
Corinne Willett loved to help people. Her huge heart had room for everyone. She didn’t discriminate when it came to offering kindness. She had an unparalleled zest for life and an ever-present passionate ear for anyone in need. Corinne passed away August 16, 2018, too soon, at the age of 53.
Many people have asked if there is some way they can support the family and honour Corinne. Ian Thompson, her father and Joanne Dancer, her mother have asked that instead of sending flowers or $ to the family that instead donations be made to The Welcome Home Centre for Healing Together, a cause that was dear to Corinne’s heart.
The Welcome Home Centre is a project initiated by Sasha Cuff and Devon Christie. It offers a range of multidisciplinary, cutting-edge therapies and programs, helping individuals on a spectrum from complex trauma and recovering substance use disorder, to those seeking spiritual growth and renewed life direction. Corinne participated in several of these courses and as she learned she witnessed the trans-formative qualities of this work, and it would be her wish to help share this opportunity with as many people as possible.
The Welcome Home Centre is accepting donations to assist with building their own clinic to deliver ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy when it becomes available in the next few years. These therapies offer hope to individuals suffering with chronic unrelenting depression, and PTSD. https://maps.org/research/mdma
A scholarship fund is being created in Corinne’s name, to assist those who cannot afford these treatments and programs.
