Corky’s Fight Night Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser

In just under a week’s time I will be entering the ring at Fight Night Exe after 9 weeks of training and will be taking on an opponent in front of 1000 people!

I would like to make it all worth it by raising money for a great cause - Muscular Dystrophy UK.

My mum’s amazing goddaughter Meriel suffers with Nemaline Myopathy which is one of the congenital myopathies that changes the muscle cells, making them less able to contract. This weakness of the muscles means that Meriel and children like her are totally reliant on support from others. Meriel at such a young age cannot walk anymore and needs machines to help her breathe 24 hours a day and also to cough for her when she has a cold. She also needs a gastrostomy tube for basic nourishment. It is a truly awful disease.

There is currently no effective treatment or cure for Nemaline Myopathy, so please donate anything you can, however small, so that more research can go in to finding ways to make the battle for children diagnosed with Nemaline Myopathy a little easier.
