Corky Herwig is a devoted mother of three girls and a dedicated grandmother to eight grandchilden. She enjoys doing outside activities, like yard work, flower gardening and spending time with her family.
Seven years ago, Corky was diagnosed with Stage 4: Breast Cancer. At that time she had surgery/lumpectomy to remove the tumor. Corky opted out of chemotherapy and radiation and followed a whole food organic diet. By doing so she was able to keep the cancer at bay up until August 2017. After a follow up visit to the Oncologist, she was informed that the tumor returned, but metastasized to other areas in the body. Like the abdomen, lung, clavical, shoulder blade, pectoral muscle, and breast tissue.
The medical treatment required will excede the funds that she can provide. A portion of the funds needed will come from family, however family will not be able to cover all of the required funds.
The money raised will go towards medical and traveling expenses. She is going to start treatments as soon as October 9th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On October 29th, 2017, there will be a benefit in Mora, Minnesota. We will be having a silent auction, hourly prize drawings, bake sale, and a spaghetti dinner.
