Corneal Transplant for Tatyana

Hello Friends!
My name is Jennifer Grassi and I am trying to raise 30,000 for my friend Tatyana who needs a corneal transplant .
Tatyana's sister, Dilyana and I have worked together at Family Vision Care Center since February and have become very close.
In May, I learned that Dilyana’s 28 year old sister, Tatyana, was diagnosed with granular corneal dystrophy. She is extremely light sensitive and without obtaining corneal transplants, she will go completely blind. Her vision now is comparable to having a handful of sand thrown into your eyes that you cannot get out. Or taking a rock and scratching your glasses until they are impossible to see through.
Tatyana lives with her husband in Bulgaria. She and her husband are architects with a combined annual income of $3000. In Bulgaria, organs are very rarely donated and transplants do not commonly occur due to religious beliefs.
Here in America, granular corneal dystrophy is completely treatable with corneal transplants. my coworkers and I have been working for months at trying to secure the procedure for Tatyana in Albany, NY with Dr. Schultz and Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Dr. Schultze and Albany Med are anxious to help Tatyana and are offering their expertise and services at more than half off of the usual customary fees! When the Lion’s Club learned the details of this situation, they offered to provide $4,800.
Bottom line is we need to raise $30,000. We need to pay in full up front and we need to prove to the Bulgarian and US Governments that the procedures are fully paid for. Time is of the essence!
We have organized a fund raiser event on November 5th from 1-5pm at Gaffney's Restaurant in downtown Saratoga Springs. Gaffney’s will provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres. There will be a $25 entrance fee and a Silent Auction items.
I am so happy that we are able to change Tatyana's life. We have so many people that are willing to help and are so grateful. Thank you so much!
