Corona Virus - Leicester Food Bank Appeal
Action Homeless (702230) are fundraising to buy food for food banks across Leicester to ensure they remain open so people that use them do not lose a vital lifeline.
There are over 15 food banks in Leicester that work every week. Their support provides food to at least 700 people in need every week.
Local groups have seen a 50-60% drop in donations in the last week as the public have tried to plan for the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Without donations from food suppliers, supermarkets and the public food banks in Leicester would not be able to operate.
Action Homeless runs Leicester's Emergency Food Partnership that supports food banks across the city. They are working with the local Council, businesses and community groups to ensure everyone gets the support they need during this uncertain time.
