3000 Face Shields for Coronavirus Heroes
Tax deductible
Help us put 3,000 faceshields directly in the hands of selfless NYC first responders and healthcare workers on the COVID frontlines here in NYC. A $5.50 donation will buy one face mask.
August UPDATE: My not-for-profit has handed out 20,000 face shields to NYC healthcare workers and first responders! Donate here or at Cut Red Tape 4 Heroes our project that has put PPE direclty in the hands of more than 110,000 hospital workers, nursing home workers, the homeless, veterans, and public housing residents. Every donation helps us pay for PPE I bought against a home loan.
EXPERIENCE IS KEY! Art Science Research Laboratory , a 501c3, not-for-profit, was the main provider of desperately needed respirators and personal protective equipment for uniform services (police and fire) during the 9 months of recovery operations at World Trade Center Ground Zero after Sept. 11. We cut through red tape as reported in the NY Times and are doing it AGAIN putting supplies directly in selfless rescue workers’ hands in the epicenter of the Coronavirus crisis, New York City.
After Sept. 11, in recognition of our effectiveness, we received millions of dollars from foundations including the Robert Wood Johnson and Rockefeller Foundation to support our Ground Zero efforts, again as verified and reported by the NY Times and the foundations themselves.
The New York Times highlighted in 2002 ASRL's founder and director, Rhonda Roland Shearer's vital efforts. They quoted John Moran of the New York Police Department Emergency Service Unit, who “pointing out a wall of boxes full of respirators, flashlights, tools and warm winter clothing in the unit's supply station next to ground zero" said, ''A lot of this stuff, Rhonda is responsible for.”
WE SECURED 3,000 FACESHIELDS! And with your help. we would like to buy more!
We have located two distributors who will sell us a total of 3,000 NON-FS600 faceshields (pictured at top) -- 1500 faceshields at $5.30 each and an additional 1500 face shields at $6.00 a mask. We need $16,950.00 to buy the masks and $500 for GoFundMe fees. After reaching this goal, we want to obtain faceshields for more workers.
Every dollar goes straight to the distributor, with no overhead. We will post all financials for transparency and verification.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo tells us in his daily briefings 21,000 health care workers are coming to New York, it's essential we locate and obtain protective equipment to keep workers safe.
Brave first responders risk their lives breaking up crowds, like the one seen below on Mott Street in Nolita this week, and responding to emergencies.
